Celebrating Bhupinder....

The morning drive started today as usual with shuffling between the various good for nothing FM channels. I don't know for some reason I was too bored with the self obsessed Prithvi (whom I hate) on Radio One (94.3 FM). Radio Indigo plays mostly new Hip Hops in the morning which I haven't heard and cant relate to, however their night Patrol is good, where they play some good classic Rock of our time!

So I was too bored with all the FM channels that we get here in Bangalore as usual, as I have cribbed enough number of times already. then I found this old CD in my dashboard, which had old songs. The CD started with "ek hi khwaab" from the movie Kinaara , music by RD Burman and lyrics by Gulzar, sung by Bhupinder Singh. and I loved it, was listening to it after ages, the lyrics are very simple and but Bhupinder has sung in wonderfully, specially the start "trng tring tring" with guitar in the back ground, and "tikku ki bachhi". After the song was over I realized that this is one CD which I burned sometime back which had Bhupinder's songs. and after that I just loved the one hour drive to work (yeah today I drove)

I just decided to listen to Bhupinder's songs today. Some Trivia on Bhupinder as Wikipedia telles it is here
the other songs which made my day:

  • Kisi Nazar Ko Tera Intezar Aaj Bhi Hai
  • Dil Dhoondta Hai - mausam
  • Huzoor Is Kadar bhi na Itra ke Chaliye
and here is the video of ek hi khwaab:

Sunday

Had an awesome Sunday. I already did my long run on saturday (which was around 28 KM) so preferred not to go running on Sunday morning. Woke up late, and then suddenly we (Ankita and Me) decided to go cycling, and on the way back we had our breakfast. This was the first time I went cycling with her, and we loved it. I am excited about her new found love for cycling!

Came back and then went for some book shopping, guess which book she picked up ?
"Its not about the Bike by Lance Armstrong" !!!! I am so proud of her for taking up running and cycling :))))))))

things one notices while "biking" to work

I saw this written on the back of an SUV, the owner was trying to ooze out a lot of "Dude-apa" but all in vain

"If you think that nobody notices you, or appreciates you, or if you are lonely. BUY AN SUV"

well this doesn't look true at all, I guess if we replace SUV, by a cycle, this definitely is true!

biked to work

Started biking to work from today, and coincidentally today the world met in Copenhagen to save the earth. Loved the ride in the morning, though it was a little difficult in the evening. But I took it as a strong cross training and would continue to do it.

Also got my share of attention on the road. With a couple (who were driving to office in their Elantra) pulling off the road and asking me how much did the bike cost me.....

Cyclogy

Saw a girl cycling to office on the Koramangla 80 FT Road. Tried to get ahead of her to see who she was, but in vain, talk about catching a cyclist in Bangalore, it seems to be an impossible task. It took me 4 KM to get ahead of her :)

So starting to cycle to work from Monday!
